Privacy policy

Only what the app needs to work:

• Your email address, and your name if you give one — to sign you in and to attribute your contributions.
• Your tolerance list: which ingredients and products you marked as safe, limit or avoid.
• Corrections you submit, including a photo of a label if you add one.
• If you sign in with Apple or Google: the email address they confirm and an identifier from that provider. No password is involved.

To see which pages and screens get used we measure visits with Google Analytics: Google Analytics 4 on this site, Firebase Analytics in the apps. What is recorded is which page or screen was opened, along with the usual technical details your browser or phone sends with any request.

What is not: your email address, your name, or your tolerance list. A share link, a password-reset link and a confirmation link each carry a secret code in the address; that code is stripped out before anything reaches Google.

On this site none of it happens unless you agree to it. Until you do, Google Analytics is not even loaded — nothing reaches Google and no cookies are set. Say no and it stays that way. You can change your mind at any time through "Cookies" at the bottom of every page; switching to no deletes the analytics cookie right away. We ask again after six months. In the apps this is part of the app itself and there is no separate choice.

There are no ad networks in the app or on this site, nothing is sold on, nothing is linked to an advertising identifier, and we do not build profiles to advertise to you.

Your tolerance list says something about your health. That is why it sits behind your account, is never shared on our initiative, and why a share link stays active only as long as you want it to. The app neither reads from nor writes to Apple Health.

You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete account, or on this website: sign in and choose Delete account under "My profile" on the My list page. That removes your account, your list and your share links immediately and permanently. Suggestions that were already approved remain as catalog data, but with your name detached from them.

Data is stored on servers in the European Union, reachable only by whoever operates the service.

The app asks for camera access when you scan a barcode. Frames are processed on your device to read the code; no photo is sent to the server. Only the code that was read is looked up.
